Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon preferably freshly ground for a more pronounced aroma
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter cut into small slices
  • 2 large apples such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith
  • 1 tablespoon packed light brown sugar

Instructions

  • Slice or dice the apples according to your preferred size and shape.
  • Arrange the cut apples in an even layer inside a microwave-safe bowl to encourage uniform cooking.
  • Scatter the light brown sugar and ground cinnamon over the apples.
  • Gently stir until the fruit is evenly covered with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Distribute the sliced salted butter across the top of the seasoned apples.
  • Microwave for approximately 3–4 minutes, or until the apples are tender and can be pierced easily with a fork.
