Remove the 16 ounces of cream cheese from the refrigerator and allow it to reach room temperature. Proper softening makes blending easier and helps produce a smooth, creamy spread.
Blend with the honey. Transfer the softened cream cheese to a mixing bowl and add the 1/4 cup of honey. Beat with a hand mixer until the mixture becomes smooth, uniform, and thoroughly combined.
Stir in the 1 cup of sweetened dried cranberries, 1 cup of coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of finely grated fresh orange zest.
Gently fold the ingredients into the cream cheese mixture until the fruit, nuts, and zest are evenly dispersed. Avoid excessive mixing so some of the larger nut pieces remain intact and provide texture.
Spoon the finished cranberry walnut cream cheese dip into a serving bowl and serve at room temperature with crackers.
