Resting Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 14 oz whole-berry cranberry sauce such as Ocean Spray Whole Berry
  • Freshly grated orange zest for optional garnish
  • 8 oz block cream cheese softened to room temperature, approximately 70°F
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Round crackers such as Ritz or Carr’s water crackers, for serving
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade

Instructions

  • Set the 8-ounce block of softened cream cheese in the center of a serving platter.
  • Keep the cream cheese at room temperature while preparing the fruit topping so that it remains soft, smooth, and easy to spread.
  • Place the 14 ounces of whole-berry cranberry sauce, 1/2 cup orange marmalade, and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar in a small bowl.
  • Stir thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly combined. Allow the mixture to stand for approximately 20 minutes, stirring it from time to time, until the sugar has completely dissolved and the topping has thickened slightly.
  • After the cranberry-orange topping has rested and the sugar is fully dissolved, spoon the mixture evenly over the softened cream cheese.
  • Finish with freshly grated orange zest, if desired.
  • Serve immediately with round buttery crackers alongside for dipping, scooping, and spreading.
