4ozcream cheesesoftened to room temperature
2teaspoonsgarlic powder
½large onionfinely diced
¼cupmayonnaise
1teaspoondried parsley
1cupSwiss cheesefreshly shredded for smoother melting
¼cupsour cream
Additional shredded cheese for the toppingoptional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F, allowing it to reach the proper temperature before the casserole is placed inside.
Add the crab meat, finely diced onion, mayonnaise, sour cream, softened cream cheese, shredded Swiss cheese, garlic powder, and dried parsley to a large mixing bowl. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated and the mixture becomes creamy and cohesive.
Transfer the prepared crab mixture to a casserole dish. Use a spatula to distribute it evenly and smooth the surface into a uniform layer.
For an additional cheesy topping, scatter extra shredded cheese over the surface of the casserole. This layer is optional.
Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the casserole is hot and bubbling.
Remove the baked crab casserole from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.
Freshly shredding the Swiss cheese can promote smoother, more even melting. Real crab may be substituted for imitation crab when a richer crab flavor is preferred. The additional cheese topping is entirely optional.
