Ingredients

  • 20 large Medjool dates pits removed and each date sliced lengthwise
  • Hot honey as needed for drizzling, such as Mike’s Hot Honey
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup walnuts chopped and lightly toasted for enhanced flavor
  • Red pepper flakes optional, for an added spicy finish
  • 4 ounces goat cheese softened to room temperature

Instructions

  • Prepare the dates. Slice each Medjool date lengthwise, then carefully remove and discard the pit.
  • Add the goat cheese. Gently open each prepared date and spoon goat cheese into the center cavity.
  • Add the walnuts. Press a walnut piece into the goat cheese filling of each date, ensuring it sits securely in place.
  • Finish with honey. Lightly drizzle hot honey over the filled dates to provide a sweet finishing layer.
  • Add optional heat. Sprinkle the stuffed dates with red pepper flakes or Aleppo pepper, if desired.
  • Serve. Arrange the finished stuffed dates neatly on a serving platter.

Notes

Lightly toasting the walnuts before chopping can deepen their flavor. Red pepper flakes or Aleppo pepper may be omitted for a completely sweet and savory version.
